I did it last night and it worked and so far my computer hasn't blown up and my door hasn't been kicked in by the Russians so I'm inclined to believe it's safe. I know the site looks shady as ♥♥♥♥ but it's legit. If you want to play the Steam copy though this is your only option. If you don't want to go this route then you can always just play your Origin version that you should have already that is using the same key as your Steam copy. This is a legit way to fix this issue and apparently is officially sanctioned since EA closed the site that lets you reset your activations. You can leave it in there if you want you'll just have to close the activation thing every time you launch. After that you want to delete the activation exe in the directory as well this will keep the activation program from harassing you. After you download that replace the deadspace2exe in your install directory with the exe from gamecopyworld. It's the first file on the list for version 1.01. My computer didn't get AIDS from the website though so if you want to go that route it'll get your legit copy running, it's apparently an officially sanctioned patch too because EA was too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid to ever undo this mess from a bygone era. The only thing I haven't had time to find out is if the trading cards will still drop since it technically is running a different dead space 2 exe. Sadly you're going to have to turn to the gamescopyworld route, it's scary as hell looking website but everyone says it's safe, I just did that myself to get my copy running. I remember years ago I had to actually call a number through the support site that is now a dead link to have someone reset my activations. Went to launch it up and of course my activation limits are exceeded. Really dumb that they haven't taken this out yet especially since they've retroactively added trading cards to the steam version. Does this method involve purchasing an additional copy of Dead Space 2? That won't work, the key you'll have tied to your Origin version that should already be in your library is using the same key as your Steam copy.
